ANSYS 16.2 Released
As products – from automobiles to smartphones to wearable technology – become more complex and development times continue to shrink, the need to simulate whole systems grows. Using the newly released ANSYS 16.2, engineers can now create virtual prototypes of complete systems, enabling them to make significant strides in innovation and to unleash next-generation products within their industries. ANSYS 16.2 is now available.

In the Loop
Vehicle automation provides the opportunity to improve traffic flow, increase driver comfort, and reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Many vehicles already have automated lighting, intelligent parking-assist systems, proximity sensors with alarms and other automated systems. DLR is using ANSYS software to develop safe advanced vehicle automation.

Introduction to Design of High-Efficiency Motors
August 20 at 2:00 pm EDT, 6:00 GMT
Driven by the need for greater power efficiency in the transportation, aerospace, defense and industrial automation sectors, electrical machines are undergoing a design transformation. New efficiency standards for electrical machines and generators are pushing these industries to redesign products that previously have been developed using only analytical or empirical methods. Dan Ionel, Chief Engineer with Regal Beloit Corporation and an IEEE Fellow, will demonstrate how ANSYS solutions provide insight into electromechanical interdependencies and the use of field solvers to achieve better efficiency and limit materials consumption in electrical machine design.
