Making Waves
As industry finds more and wider uses for electronics, electrical engineers must take into account a broad range of factors when designing these smart products. Chemring Technology Solutions’ engineers frequently face the challenge of understanding, diagnosing and predicting the behavior of electromagnetic waves as they propagate between antennas, printed circuit board (PCB) traces, packages and other parts of the system.

Structural Simulation: Railway Bridge Reinforcement
January 29 at 11 am EST
Railway bridges in Brazil’s São Paulo region were designed for the load profiles for older freight trains so a switch to newer trains required a re-evaluation of the bridges’ load-bearing capabilities. Civil engineers were tasked to determine if existing bridges could be reinforced to handle new load profiles, or whether the region needed to build new bridges. Minimizing railway downtime was a top priority. This event is part of the ANSYS Convergence Webinar Series.

White Paper: Ensuring Reliability of FinFET-Based Designs
The growing demand for ultra-low power ICs in the area of connected and mobile devices is driving the adoption of the FinFET technology node at 16-nanometers (nm) and below for system-on-chip (SoC) designs. While a smaller footprint, higher performance and lower leakage are key benefits with FinFETs, reliability in terms of thermal, electromigration and electrostatic discharge are major challenges
