Magnetic Attraction Magnetic Attraction
Magnets have a large number of commercial applications in a variety of devices, such as clutches, bearings, gears, fasteners, motors, sensors, security devices, pointers, scopes and optics, to name a few. Correlated magnetics is a breakthrough ability that allows magnetic fields to be accurately shaped to increase device efficiency, enable savings in assembly and integration, and establish whole new areas of application for magnets. Correlated Magnetics Research used ANSYS Maxwell to develop complex magnetic structures for these custom magnets.

HFSS for ECAD HFSS for ECAD
As electronics products become smaller and more functional, the need to include efficient electromagnetic analysis within traditional electronic design has increased dramatically. To address these issues, ANSYS recently updated its tool for simulating 3D full-wave electromagnetic fields, HFSS, to include a 3D electrical layout interface as well as a planar method of moments (MoM) solver for a more accurate and streamlined design workflow.

Flow Assurance: A Key Topic at the Offshore Technology Conference
The focus of OTC 2013 was deep-water production. Challenges occur for these deep-water operations at ultra-low temperatures and high pressures using long pipelines that transport oil, gas and water (multiphase flows). Fluid dynamics engineers working in flow assurance (a relatively new term in the oil and gas industry) departments have the responsibility to ensure successful and economical flow of oil and gas from the reservoir to the point of sale. Learn more in this blog.

Training Course Videos for ANSYS Products: ANSYS Customer Exclusive
ANSYS is introducing a series of recordings, available on the ANSYS Customer Portal, to allow software users to participate in introductory product training delivered by ANSYS specialists. This content may be consumed in short segments and is only available to ANSYS customers. The ANSYS Mechanical course is available right now. Watch the Customer Portal for information on other product training.

Simulation of 3D Composites with ANSYS

Structural Technology Tips — Composites
Traditionally, layered composites structures are modeled as thin structures using shell elements. This approach is valid when designing thin parts, but when the parts are more massive solid models are required. View this page with access to videos that include both an overview and step-by-step instructions on simulating 3-D solid composites.

IBM Application Ready Solutions for ANSYS
For organizations that want to speed deployment with highly optimized cluster solutions and the cloud, IBM has worked with ANSYS to create an application ready solution based on reference architectures. Pre-integrated ANSYS application templates reduce setup time and simplify job submission so engineers can become productive quickly and easily share files with colleagues. Organizations also benefit from solution-level support with one number to call for all IBM hardware and software components.
