Fast-Charging Battery Development Fast-Charging Battery Development
With concern about emissions and the volatile price of gasoline, electric vehicles are emerging as a viable transportation option. To accelerate the production of safe, reliable, high-performance and long-lasting lithium-ion battery packs, the automotive industry requires simulation tools that accurately represent cell and pack multiphysics phenomena occurring across a wide range of scales. General Motors has assembled a project team composed of GM researchers and engineers, ANSYS software developers, and the staff of ESim LLC to reduce the production cost of high-power batteries.
